The RAG-79-G1 Gundam Marine Type was an amphibious mobile suit based on the body of the RAG-79 Aqua GM, except it was designed with ace pilots in mind. The Marine Type featured a slightly more powerful reactor than the Aqua GM, and its performance and thruster output was also slightly higher. The Marine Type’s armaments included torpedoes, beam picks, a harpoon gun and a special underwater polarized beam rifle. Because the head was molded after the famous RX-78-2 Gundam, the unit was commonly referred to as just “Gundam.”
