The RahXephon continues to look for Ayato and Quon starts singing. Mamoru asks Hiroko what she’s doing there and she asks about him. Kuki asks who she is and Mamoru says she’s not involved. Maya exits and tells Kuki Ixtli has appeared. She tells him to launch Allegretto and Falsetto and to send some one to the hospital because Quon started singing. Maya tells Mamoru to handle Hiroko and Haruka identifies Maya as her aunt. Ayato mindlessly watches images of the dolem pilots and Maya enters. The dolems surround the RahXephon and knock it downwards. As it falls, the RahXephon shoots out energy blasts and destroys Falsetto. Falsetto’s pilot writhes in agony and vanishes. Maya bids her farewell and Ayato asks what they are. Maya says they were the few Mulians, who can only exist if they’re bound to a dolem. She says Mulians are humans too and that Ayato is a Mulian as well. Maya says she loves him, and Ayato asks if she’ll dress as the Mulian’s leader.

Ayato takes Hiroko to the RahXephon and he calls out to it. Ayato boards it and opens a quantum corridor. Haruka cries out to him not to go but he does. Elvy catches up and says they have to go. Haruka cries and Elvy slaps her, saying she can’t help him if she can’t keep himself together. Kuki asks Maya to let them attack TERRA, but she tells him to shut up or she’ll kill him. Mamoru watches on as the Vermillion flies away. Once outside, Ayato wonders where he should go.
Not a lot is actually answered in this episode, but there are some major revelations. Haruka reveals that her and Ayato were sweethearts in middle school but were separated by Tokyo Jupiter. Elvy points out that she still loves him, and it’s quite obvious. Maya reveals that Mulians are also humans, but that they are bound to dolems. Ayato leaves Tokyo once again, but this time he takes Hiroko with him. Mamoru is also revealed to be devious and now has quite the grudge against Ayato. Now that Ayato has nowhere to go, we’ll see what he does.
