Geo has the NSX prepare for battle. Nova says she’ll make sure everyone is with Hikaru forever and takes them into another dimension. The Knights hesitate because of Lantis and take some damage. Eagle attacks but takes heavy damage when he has a coughing fit. Hikaru attacks Regalia point blank with a Flame Arrow but holds back when she sees it also causes Lantis pain. Eagle steps in again but has another coughing fit. Umi and Fuu ask how Nova is part of Hikaru and Hikaru explains it’s the same as how monsters are created. Nova says she was born from Hikaru, but raised by Debonair. Debonair taught her that to prevent Hikaru from being sad she should kill them all. Caldina and the rest try to keep the citizens calm while the castle continues to shake. Umi and Fuu are knocked out and Hikaru tells Nova she wants everyone to live and be happy, not die. Nova insists that killing everyone will make Hikaru happy and attacks. Eagle blocks it but takes a hit to the cockpit. He tells Hikaru to call out to Lantis as the FTO takes serious damage. Hikaru says the reason she fell for Lantis is because she can’t lie to her own heart and calls out his name.
The castle’s ceiling collapses but Ascot’s monsters protect the citizens. The floor falls out next and Mira tells her friend not to cry. Umi and Fuu hold Nova off as Hikaru continues to call for Lantis. Lantis wakes up but Nova attacks Hikaru before she can reach him. Rayearth is damaged but Hikaru continues to call out. Clef mentally tells Presea he’s going to support the castle with all his magic but she warns him of the danger. He assures her he won’t die because he doesn’t want the Knights to be sad again. He asks her to get Debonair’s location from Alcyone. Lantis tells Eagle to attack Regalia, but Eagle refuses since it would make Hikaru sad. He’s sure Hikaru won’t end up like Emeraude and restrains Regalia. Lantis says he won’t die because he’s not like his brother and that he’ll escape when Nova’s power weakens. Eagle charges and manages to pull Lantis out. Nova’s dimension vanishes and Debonair appears. She curses Eagle and attacks him. Before he dies, Eagle tells Lantis to make Hikaru happy. Hikaru shouts Eagle’s name and the three Rune-Gods combine together. They charge at Debonair but Nova blocks them. The combined Rune-God emits a light that causes Regalia to start crumbling and Nova seeks help from Debonair. Debonair tells Nova to die with the Knights and attacks. Nova escapes from Regalia before it is destroyed and the Knights fend off Debonair’s attack with their Spiral Flash. Debonair disappears and Geo and Zazu cry over Eagle’s death. Hikaru has Umi and Fuu head back as she confronts Nova.
There was quite the battle this episode with Nova managing to take on four opponents at once. On another front we had everyone else trying to keep the citizen’s spirits up which is actually very important since negative emotions give Debonair more power. Eagle manages to free Lantis but is killed by Debonair as a result. It’s sad to see him go but at least he had the warrior’s death that he wanted. Nova’s been abandoned by Debonair and now it’s time for Hikaru to face her shadow. There’s one episode left and I hope it’s as good as this one.
