The Reentry Pod was a craft used by the Meltrandi forces. Armed with multiple beam cannons, the Reentry Pod was a formidable attack craft when deployed in a planetary atmosphere. After a Meltrandi Gunboat fired on the Macross and caused the ship to crash on the ancient Protoculture city Altira, a Reentry Pod appeared and attacked Hikaru Ichijyo’s VF-1S Valkyrie. Hikaru single-handedly engaged the Reentry Pod until it retreated when the Zentradi fleet arrived.
