The Earth Federation Forces’ attempt to mass produce the AGE-2 Gundam AGE-2 Normal was a long and difficult process. Difficulty in understanding the AGE System led to military engineers reverse engineering the AGE-2 Normal and creating the RGE-G2000X Prototype Clanche, a mobile suit with a troubled development history. After numerous problems, the final design was simplified for the RGE-G2100 Clanche. However, even with a simplified design, the Clanche required extra training so that a pilot could master both its forms. This caused many pilots to opt for the easier to handle RGE-G1500 Adele Mk-II. Although the Clanche featured a transformation system and was capable of unassisted atmospheric flight, it dropped the AGE-2 Normal’s ability to use wear parts. Its armaments included beam vulcans, beam sabers and a new model of DODS rifle. In AG 164, a Clanche team commanded by Seric Abis was posted to the reactivated battleship Diva after the Vagans invaded the Earth city Olivernotes. The Clanche team’s numbers were unfortunately whittled down until none were left by the war’s end at the battle of La Gramis.
