The RGM-89D-ESC Jegan Type D (Escort Type) was a variant of the standard RGM-89D Jegan Type D. The Escort Type featured a different head design and omitted the standard 60mm vulcan guns. Its chest also featured reinforced armor similar to the RGM-89De Jegan (ECOAS Type). The Escort Type’s armaments included a 90mm short machine gun, a beam saber, three hand grenades and a shield that mounted a 2-tube missile launcher. In UC 0097, several Escort Types were on duty with a team transporting Martha Vist Carbine through Colorado. However, the escort team came under attack and was neutralized by four MSK-008 Dijehs belonging to Luio & Co.
