The Riviera was a resort ship in the Macross 7 long-distance emigration fleet. This massive vessel could accommodate 100,000 people and featured multiple resort hotels and casinos, plus an artificial beam with a 10-kilometer long coastline. Although the Riviera was unarmed, its large transparent dome could be covered with an armored shell as a defense measure. Like several other civilian ships in the fleet, the Riviera was docked with an Uraga class space carrier as its defense escort. In February 2046, the Riviera was hijacked by the Protodeviln and taken to planet Varauta IV to become part of Geperuniti’s Spiritia Farm. However, soon after Battle 7 detached from City 7 and folded to Varauta IV to rescue the resort ship.
