Although the RMS-099 Rick Dias developed by the AEUG was a superbly balanced machine, its cruising range and firepower were relatively low compared to those of the Titans’ transformable mobile suits. Thus the RMS-099S Rick Dias S was developed based on the concept of equipping a mobile suit with a support unit, which was established by the RX-178+FXA-05D Super Gundam. The Super Dias was a combination of the Rick Dias S, which had a sniper type head sensor unit and thrusters built into its side armor, and the support unit known as the FXA-04 D-Defenser. In its cruising form, the D-Defenser wrapped around the mobile suit to orient its thrust vectors in a single direction and protect the machine itself. In its attack form, the unit unfolded and the machine could function in the same fashion as the Rick Dias. Its main armament consisted of a long range bazooka and the D-Defenser’s two machine guns. It carried two Rick Dias beam sabers for melee combat, and could also use other Rick Dias weapons such as the clay bazooka. This machine was meant to be assigned to ace pilots, but deployment plans were abandoned along with the design itself while it was still in the planning stages, and it was unknown if it was ever built.
