Late in the war between Japan and the Holy Britannia Empire, Emperor Charles di Britannia was killed and his throne usurped by his wayward son Lelouch, formerly the terrorist known as Zero. This led to a split between the Britannian forces who supported Lelouch and those who followed the late Charles. In the initial battle, Knight of Three Gino Weinberg sided against Lelouch, and was defeated in battle by his former friend, Lelouch’s Knight of Zero, Suzaku Kururugi. His personal Knightmare, the RZA-3F9 Tristan, was badly damaged, leaving Gino with time to soul-search. When he decided to join the Black Knights and continue fighting Lelouch, Black Knights engineer Rakshata Chawla repaired the Tristan for him. Since most of the original machine was still intact, the biggest changes to the redubbed Tristan Divider were the modified head, the substitution of an Air Glide Wing System for the original Float System, and a new pair of weapons. These swords, made from the RZA-1A Galahad‘s bifurcated Excalibur, still retained the original’s great power, at one point breaking through the Type-0/0A Shinkirou‘s battleship-class defense. Gino used his new Tristan Divider to fight Suzaku once more in the decisive battle over Mount Fuji; though hopelessly outclassed, Gino was still able to disable Damocles’ Blaze Luminous shields, allowing Kallen Kouzuki’s Type-02/F1Z Guren SEITEN to enter the battle.
