Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY is a manga series released in Japan from 2002-2003. Written by Tomohiro Chiba and illustrated by Koichi Tokita, it is a side story to the TV series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. Set in C.E. 71, the story runs concurrently to the TV series and focuses on two protagonists: Junk Guild scavenger Lowe Guele and Serpent Tail mercenary Gai Murakumo. The original ASTRAY story was split across three publications, all written by Chiba: the ASTRAY manga in Gundam Ace magazine, the ASTRAY R manga in Shonen Ace magazine and the ASTRAY B photonovel in Dengeki Hobby magazine. Numerous sequel series followed in subsequent years. The ASTRAY manga was published in English in North America by TOKYOPOP, but is out of print.
