Excellen wonders if Kusuha is really piloting the Grungust Type 2 and Bullet grabs onto the Type 2. He senses Kusuha inside and she knocks him away with her Boost Knuckle. Levi, Atad, and Ingram monitor the situation from Neviim. Ingram says the earthlings probably have some sort of plan. He adds that he’s assigned Viletta to the task and Atad wonders if Ingram is letting her escape. Levi says she’ll open Neviim’s barrier with Judecca and tells Ingram and Atad to go collect samples. The Hagane continues the operation and Tetsuya finds it odd the Aerogators aren’t using their barriers or warp devices. Daitetsu says they must be giving a handicap and orders the Personal Troopers to launch. Kai and Gilliam launch in their Gespensts and Rio prepares to launch in a Gespenst Type-TT as well. Ryoto tells her to be careful and she says they’ll be sure to return. They both launch. Lune thinks to her father and says she’ll be fighting in his place. She asks Masaki if he’s ok with leaving Shu alone. Masaki says he doesn’t know where Shu is, but he knows where the Aerogators are. Kuro adds that they’re thankful to the Hagane, because if they didn’t meet, Masaki would still be lost somewhere. Lune quietly adds that if she hadn’t met Masaki, she wouldn’t be there either. Kusuha draws her Doom Blade and Bullet counters with his Calamity Sword. He tries to get her to stop, but she won’t listen to what he says. Atad attacks them with her Vayyikra. Tasuku protects Leona from Atad and Atad flies past them. Bullet hears Kusuha’s mental cries for help and swears he’ll save her. He tells Kyosuke and the others to go ahead without him. Operation SRW heads into phase two and the three Albatross class ships fire HMAPWs at Neviim.
All the HMAPWs hit, but Neviim is protected by a barrier. Daitetsu says the Hagane and the Hiryu Kai will begin phase three. Atad attacks the Hagane and uses her psychically controlled Kanaf slaves to attack the PTs. Garnet’s Gespenst gets heavily damaged, but Latooni saves her. Atad is about to fire on them, but the SRX team intervenes. Atad launches more Kanaf slaves, but Aya launches her Strike Shields and destroys them. Rai shoots down more Kanaf slaves and Ryusei attacks the Vayyikra directly, but his shots are blocked by a barrier. Atad chases after Ryusei, and Rai shoots her from behind with the R-2 Powered‘s Hi-Zol Launchers. Ryusei then finishes her off with a T-Link Sword. Before she dies, Atad, along with Ryusei and Aya, see visions of Atad’s life as Jennifer Fonda. Atad realizes she’s an earthling while her Vayyikra explodes. Ryoto destroys the last enemy mech and the Hagane moves to meet up with the Hiryu Kai to start phase three. Latooni wants to say something to Ryusei, but Ryusei says he’ll see her later. The Alteisen and the others are met by enemy reinforcements lead by Ingram in the R-Gun. Ingram’s forces open fire, and Russel’s Gespenst gets damaged. Masaki tells Lune they’ll use the Cyflash and Psychoblaster, but Ryusei arrives and says they’ll handle it. Aya releases the lock on Pattern OOC and the R-Series successfully combines into the SRX. The SRX uses its Telekinesis missiles, Hi Finger Launch, and Gaun Genocider to wipe out a large number of Aerogator forces. Ryusei charges forward, telling Ingram that they’re coming to get him.
Operation SRW is in full swing, and naturally they’re having a hard time. Neviim survives a pounding from lots of HMAPWs, Bullet can’t get through to Kusuha and Atad causes some damage. While Garnet and Russel both take damage, Atad is the first to die. There’s a saying that the hero always arrives late, and that’s certainly what Ryusei does. As a team, Ryusei, Rai and Aya take down Atad, who is revealed to be a brainwashed earthling. Levi is probably the same. Finally, there’s what we’ve all (or at least me) been waiting for: the SRX is finally formed. It’s the symbol of Ryusei, Rai, and Aya’s bond as a team that has been developing for the entire series. It also has Banpresto’s logo for a face. The Variable Formation scene is definitely one of my favorite combinations sequence from any mecha anime. It’s cool to see how they all fit together and the BGM is simply awesome. The next episode is the final showdown with the Aerogators. It will only get more awesome from here.
