In the war between the Dezalg and Megazone 23, the Dezalg held a 50-year technological advantage. After deploying the advance Dezalg Probe, the Sturm Goerz served as the main attack unit against Megazone 23. The Sturm Goerz was armed with a beam cannon, as well as several devastating attack cables. At close range, these cables could tear through a space vehicle and rip humans to pieces. The Sturm Goerz proved to be a capable unit after succeeding in destroying the new battleship FX-101.
