The Sv-262Ba Draken III was a variable fighter developed by Dian Cécht SV Works and used in 2067 by the Kingdom of Windermere. Because of the design of its transformation mechanism, the Sv-262Ba had reduced propellant storage capacity, which limited its cruising range in space. However, its performance was on par with contemporary variable fighters, and it could overcome its propellant limitation through the use of two Lil Draken drone fighters. When docked with the Sv-262Ba, the Lil Drakens functioned as booster pods, but when separated acted as remote-controlled drone fighters. The Sv-262Ba incorporated an optical stealth system that could camouflage its colors and external markings. It also featured a jamming system that could disrupt enemy visual monitors. The Sv-262Ba also implemented a Reheat System that used fold quartz mined from Protoculture ruins on planet Windermere IV to temporarily augment thrust.

The Sv-262Ba’s armaments included a beam gun pod, two machine railguns, an anti-projectile shield, a pinpoint barrier system and an assault sword. Additionally, the Lil Draken was armed with four micro-missile launchers and could equip a 30mm beam cannon or jamming system. The standard production Sv-262Ba was used by Windermere’s elite Aerial Knights, led by White Knight Keith Aero Windermere, who piloted the commander’s variant Sv-262Hs. As a species descended from the Protoculture, Windermerians had a humanoid appearance and increased physical endurance compared to humans, but they also had significantly shorter lifespans of about 30 years. Windermerians also used nerve-like runes in their hair to sense the energy of the wind in combat. In April 2067, the Kingdom of Windermere launched an aggressive campaign to conquer the inhabited planets of the Brisingr Globular Cluster, starting with an attack on planet Al Shahal. Throughout the course of the conflict, the Aerial Knights engaged in combat on many occasions against Xaos’ Delta Flight and the tactical sound unit Walkure.
