The SVMS-01SG Union Flag Ground Package Shell Type was a ground combat variant of the SVMS-01 Union Flag. Informally known as the Shell Flag, the suit had additional armor mounted all over its body that could absorb heat through evaporation and reduce damage dealt to the suit. The armor’s color and camouflage pattern was controlled by the nanomachines on the armor surface. As such, they could change based on the programming. The base unit of the Shell Flag was the Flag without its flight unit; as a result it could not fly, but it could hover for 10+ seconds. The Flag could adapt to various terrain by changing its parts, but as other minor adjustments were also required, there was a tendency for the machine to stay as a ground combat unit once it was configured for ground use. The knee and ankle motors were enlarged for better ground combat capabilities. The additional leg armor was ejected prior to the firing of the missiles stored in the suit’s legs. The Shell Flag’s armaments included a unique 200mm linear cannon, which featured the ammunition pack and battery in a single package mounted on the cannon’s bottom. To adapt to the tropical climate, the 120mm linear machine gun had a short barrel. Four grenades were stored at the bottom of the machine gun. The standard Flag’s flight unit was replaced by rocket launchers, and each launcher was loaded with four rockets. The defense rod carried by the Shell Flag was larger than the one used by the normal Flag.
