The geopolitical situation changed radically in 2308 when Alejandro Corner secretly delivered 30 GNX-603T GN-X units equipped with GN Drive Taus to the three superpowers. Under the auspices of the United Nations, the three superpowers combined their forces to launch a devastating attack in space that resulted in Celestial Being’s defeat. Although Union pilot Graham Aker participated in that attack in the end, he declined to use a GN-X, so instead the SVMS-01E Graham’s Union Flag Custom was modified into the SVMS-01X Union Flag Custom II, aka GN Flag. This hastily completed unit used a GN Drive Tau from a GN-X, but it had poor balance due to not being designed to implement such a drive. The sub thrusters on the legs could function as defense rods. The GN Beam Saber used by the suit was actually the GNW-001 Gundam Throne Eins‘ beam saber obtained by Graham during an earlier battle. When using the beam saber, the GN Drive Tau would swing from the back of the suit to the left shoulder. The beam saber drew power directly from the GN Drive Tau via a cable. The GN Flag had a GN Field generator on its elbow armor, but due to the suit’s rushed construction, it was unknown how stable this feature was.
Data gathered through analyzing the remains of the Throne Eins’ rifle and severed arm was used in developing this suit, allowing it to be created in a short time span. Through this analysis, more was known about some of the Gundam’s new technology, such as its armor and internal frame materials. However, no new information on the Gundam’s power source or power-related technology was obtained as all the power-related parts were destroyed when the arm and rifle exploded. Union engineers were able to test and learn about how the GN particles circulated and functioned in the suit, as well as the required strength settings for the various body parts. The GN Flag was used only once in battle against Setsuna F. Seiei’s GN-001 Gundam Exia, which resulted in both suits being heavily damaged and Graham receiving a large scar around his right eye. Four years later, Graham joined the notorious A-LAWS unit under the moniker of Mr. Bushido and piloted several Flag-inspired suits.
