Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th M.S. Team – Trivial Operation is a novel released exclusively in Japan from 1999-2001. Written by Ichiro Okouchi and illustrated by Yukitoshi Houtani, it was serialized in Hobby Japan magazine. Set during the One Year War in UC 0079, it is a side story to the 1996 OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th M.S. Team. The novel focuses on Raychel Ferguson, a Principality of Zeon mobile suit pilot who is part of an operation to recapture the California Base after it was retaken by the Earth Federation Forces.
