∀ Gundam Ep. 5: Dianna Descends

Yanny leads a convoy of Militia soldiers to attack a Moonrace encampment where Jet Stream mobile suits are setting up a perimeter. Overhead, Loran flies in Guin’s airship with Kihel and Mrs. Heim. He looks out the window to watch the battle and spots Sochie and Miashei in the Hip Heavy. He signals for them to come in closer and tells them there is no point in fighting with such a plane. He tells the airship crew he wants to get off and assures them he doesn’t want to commit suicide. Sochie moves the Hip Heavy in closer so that Loran can jump aboard. Loran climbs down the airship’s ladder and nearly falls to his death when he loses his grip. As the Hip Heavy approaches, Loran lets go of the ladder and slams into the Hip Heavy. He tells her that the Moonrace and that they want to live on Earth and not attack it. She asks how he knows that and says that if they never came Diran wouldn’t have died. Loran asks what they are doing, and they say they want to capture or destroy Moonrace mobile suits. Yanny’s forces attack Moonrace settlers, and the Hip Heavy provides air cover. Miashei jumps onto a Jet Stream and begins smacking the windshield with a hammer to steal it. The Militia’s raid seems to be going well until Pou shows up in her Wodom with an escort of Wads. She spots Miashei and grabs her with the Wodom’s hand. Rather than kill her, she decides to use Miashei as a hostage. Sochie wants to attack, but Loran convinces her he will use the Turn A to rescue Miashei. Kihel and her mother arrive at their ruined home, and her mother acts strangely. At Bostonia Castle, Harry continues negotiations with Guin and hears the news of the Militia attacks. Guin says he is ignoring the last two years of negotiation, and Harry interprets that as meaning he wants the Moonrace to live on Earth with their primitive technology. Loran and Sochie ride in a car with Joseph and Sid and are told about the newly discovered mobile suits. Loran examines the Turn A’s manual for instructions on weapons, and Sochie tells him he needs to learn how to read the manual.

At the Heim residence, Mrs. Heim tells Kihel that she must decorate the living room or Diran will be mad. Kihel cries over her mother’s madness and sees the Turn A nearby with the Hip Heavy flying overhead. At the Moonrace camp, Pou argues with a mechanic over the repair of her Wodom. Nearby, Phil interrogates Miashei, but she tells him nothing. She says that tying her up is cruel, and he answers that he does so because she is a barbarian like a wild pig. Phil decides to untie her and leaves her in a small room. The Turn A approaches, and Loran demands that they hand over Miashei. Phil sees that the Turn A has no weapons and orders Pou to capture it without damaging it. Miashei uses Loran’s distraction to escape from the room and run away. Overhead, Sochie and Ladderum attack with the Hip Heavy. Soldiers begin shooting at Miashei, but Pou knocks them away with her Wodom and grabs her again. Miashei yells at Pou and says she is weak for using her as a shield. Loran rushes in with the Turn A and severs the Wodom hand holding Miashei. Pou punches Loran, and he runs away and catches the falling Wodom hand. Loran throws away the hand and escapes safely with Miashei. At Bostonia Castle, Guin and Harry get nowhere with their negotiations. Harry hears about the Turn A’s appearance, and Guin shrugs it off. He leaves to talk to Michael on the phone and says they must capture Dianna when she arrives. Kihel takes a train to a Militia base and sees Sochie and Miashei piloting the new Kapool suits. She asks Sochie to come home, but Sochie wants to fight. Loran disagrees with Michael’s plan to capture Dianna, and Michael orders him to protect Guin during the meeting. At the Nocis airport, Loran arrives with the Turn A and stands next to Harry’s Sumo. Dianna’s flagship Soleil descends from the sky and lands on the ground. A small shuttle launches from it, and Harry blocks Loran from moving in case he tries something. Loran watches the shuttle and is happy to see Dianna. The shuttle lands, and Dianna exits and introduces herself to Guin.
