Along with the standard model Type-05 Akatsuki, Black Knights engineer Rakshata Chawla designed a commander unit, dubbed the Type-05S/G Zikisan Type, “Zikisan” being an old Japanese word for the direct subordinates of the Shogun. The Zikisan Type boasted performance surpassing the baseline Akatsuki, and carried stronger weapons, such as the Shiseiken’s trademark chain-swords and a trio of radiation missiles mounted on the right forearm. One important feature of the Zikisan Type was a pair of radiation wave emitters mounted in the face, which allowed it to generate a defensive barrier like the Type-02 Guren Mk-II. Several Akatsuki Zikisan Types were constructed; the standard model, painted dark blue, was used by team commanders including surviving Four Holy Swords members Shogo Asahina and Nagisa Chiba. One unit, painted pale pink, served as the personal machine of Zero’s accomplice and right-hand woman, C.C.
