Based on the Orb Union’s Astray series mobile suits, the UT-1D Civilian Astray DSSD Custom was used by the Deep Space Survey & Development Organization. Although DSSD also used civilian units such as the Junk Guild’s MWF-JG71 Raysta, the Civilian Astray was heavily customized for DSSD’s needs. The head featured an upgraded sensor suite, which was protected by a visor designed to stop impacts with space debris. The Civilian Astray’s thrusters utilized an electromagnetic propulsion system that served as a predecessor to the GSX-401FW Stargazer Gundam‘s “Voiture Lumiere.” Although intended for a non-combat role, the Civilian Astray could carry a beam pistol and shield. Civilian Astrays were sent into battle in C.E. 73, when the Earth Alliance’s secret Phantom Pain unit launched an attack on DSSD to seize the Stargazer Gundam.

Fun fact: The OST for the G-Saviour PS2 game got a physical release. King Record released the 1-disc 31-track CD on January 25, 2001. Unfortunately, it’s not a cheap pickup. Only so many copies were made, and as a result, it fetches high prices online ($125+)!
