In C.E. 70, ZAFT rolled out the amphibious mobile suit UMF-4A GOOhN. ZAFT also created an underground test version, the UTA/TE-6 GOOhN Underground Mobility Test Type. The GOOhN Underground Type was modified to incorporate digging claws on the hands. Because the Underground Type was not meant for combat, its armaments were reduced to two phonon maser cannons and the digging claws. In C.E. 71, an Underground Test Type unit was used by PLANT civilian Diller Rojo, who was searching the abandoned Mendel research colony for genetic information on George Glenn, the first Coordinator. After the Bloody Valentine War, ZAFT created an improved limited production version, the UTA/TE-6P Geo-GOOhN.
