The V08-1228 Grimgerde was a Valkyrja Frame mobile suit developed during the Calamity War. The Grimgerde was designed as a lightweight suit that offered high mobility both in space and on the ground. Following the Calamity War, Gjallarhorn used the Grimgerde as the basis for two mass production models, the EB-04 Geirail and the later EB-06 Graze Standard Type. The Grimgerde’s armaments included a 110mm Valkyrja rifle and a pair of forearm-mounted Valkyrja shields that each housed a Valkyrja blade. In P.D. 323, McGillis Fareed piloted the Grimgerde under the masked alias Montag of the Montag Company. As part of his plan to take down Gjallarhorn’s ruling Seven Stars families, McGillis attacked his friend Gaelio Bauduin and fought his ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper. Although McGillis dealt what he presumed was a fatal blow, Gaelio survived and later adopted the masked alias Vidar to seek revenge upon his former friend. McGillis later had the Grimgerde modified into a heavy armor suit, which was redesignated as the V08Re-0526 Helmwige Reincar.
