The VE-1 ELINT Seeker Valkyrie was a two-seater reconnaissance variant of the standard VF-1 Valkyrie. Manufactured by Shinnakasu Heavy Industry, its name was an abbreviation for “electronic signals intelligence.” The VE-1 featured additional equipment for its electronic warfare role, which was mostly mounted on a customized FAST Pack, including a large rotary radome. Pairs of antennae were mounted on each arm. The propellant tanks from the FAST Pack allowed the VE-1 to operate for extended missions. Because of its reconnaissance focus, the VE-1 was unarmed.
