The VF-1S Super Valkyrie was a configuration of the VF-1S that equipped the FAST Pack system for enhanced operation in space. The FAST Pack added a pair of booster thrusters and extra propellant/coolant tanks. The FAST Pack also boosted the VF-1S’ armaments with the addition of multiple micro-missile pods. Because the FAST Pack was designed only for use in space, the pilot must purge the equipment before entering a planetary atmosphere. The FAST Packs were rolled out on the Macross in 2010 during Space War I.
