The VF-25/TWI Tornado Messiah was the Tornado Pack-equipped version of the VF-25F Messiah. The TW1 Tornado Pack was developed to better combat the Vajra after the super dimensional lifeforms attacked the Macross Frontier emigration fleet in 2059. The Tornado Pack’s main armament was the TW1-HPC/M25 prototype heavy quantum beam gun turret that utilized beam gun miniaturization technology from the Macross Galaxy fleet. Despite the use of that technology, the large beam gun turret created control problems and required additional equipment to negate its negative effects. The Tornado Pack was also armed with 10 micro-missile launchers plus micro-missile pods. The Tornado Pack mounted additional equipment when deployed in space. Data from the Tornado Pack was used in the development of an advanced new anti-Vajra fighter, the YF-29 Durandal.
