The VGMM-Git01 Kabakali was a prototype mobile suit developed by Venus Globe’s G-IT Laboratory. Based on the standard Re G-IT, it was originally codenamed G-IT and intended to serve as Kia Mbeki’s personal mobile suit during Operation Reconguista in RC 1014. As such, its shoulder shields were fitted with Minovsky Flight Units for sustained atmospheric flight on Earth, and it was capable of unassisted atmospheric reentry thanks to built-in heat resistant film in the leg armor. The Kabakali was equipped with a high performance photon battery that required the use of a photon balancer, and the suit emitted surplus photon energy as light. As a general purpose machine, the Kabakali was intended to function in all combat ranges, and it was capable of mounting mission-specific backpacks similar to the YG-111 Gundam G-Self. Its armaments included a beam shotgun with grenade launcher, two beam sabers and a back-mounted container that stored multiple beam rings. The beam rings featured rotary cutting blades and could be remote controlled by laser beams emitted from the palms. Due to Kia dying before Operation Reconguista, the suit was given to Capital Army ace pilot Mask, who named it Kabakali after a deity said to protect the underworld that Kuntala souls went to after death. In the final battle of the conflict, Mask used the Kabakali in a fierce fight against Bellri Zenam’s YG-111+BPMF-01 Gundam G-Self (Perfect Pack) and ultimately lost.
