The XGF-01 Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model was a mobile suit manufactured by the Ochs Earth Corporation. It was a mass production version of the prototype XGF-02 Gundam Lfrith that Ochs Earth created in partnership with the Vanadis Institute. The Pre-Production Model lacked the blade antenna of the Gundam Lfrith and incorporated a different backpack design, but it retained the Shell Unit that transmitted data between the suit and pilot. Its armaments included two beam vulcan guns, a beam rifle and a pair of back-mounted launchers for explosive Chelonian GUND-BITs that could be remotely controlled and attached to targets before detonation.

A mass production version of the Gundam Lfrith manufactured by the Ochs company. Large launchers loaded with GUND-BITs are mounted on its back. In A.S. 101, the Mobile Suit Development Council decided to ban GUND Format research and sent a black ops team from the Dominicus corps to eliminate all Vanadis personnel in the asteroid laboratory Fólkvangr. Several Pre-Production Models were deployed during the attack, which later came to be known as the Vanadis Incident. Remnants of Ochs Earth, supported by the Space Assembly League, later manufactured more Pre-Production Models, which contributed to the development of the EDM-GA-01 Gundam Lfrith Ur, EDM-GA-02 Gundam Lfrith Thorn and EDM-GB Gundvölva. In A.S. 122, Prospera Mercury discovered an Ochs Earth facility in the city of Quinharbor where multiple Pre-Production Models were stored. She used the XVX-016RN Gundam Aerial Rebuild to destroy the entire facility and the mobile suits in it.
