The XGF-E3 Gundnode was an unpiloted GUND-BIT mobile suit developed by the Shin Sei Development Corporation. The Gundnodes were designed by Prospera Mercury to work in conjunction with the XVX-016RN Gundam Aerial Rebuild by expanding its data storm. The Aerial Rebuild was the centerpiece of Prospera’s plan to use the superweapon Quiet Zero to create a massive data storm and assume control of all systems using Permet links. This elaborate plan was intended to create a peaceful world for Prospera’s deceased daughter Eri Samaya, whose consciousness was preserved within the Aerial Rebuild. The Gundnodes were armed with beam blades and a beam bev rifle, but they could also equip an armor pack with four beam sabers and four GUND-BITs. The Space Assembly League mobilized a fleet to destroy Quiet Zero, but its mobile suits were immobilized by the data storm that had already been initiated by the Aerial Rebuild and boosted by the Gundnodes. Destroying Gundnode units had the effect of decreasing the range of the Aerial Rebuild’s data storm.
