Developed shortly after the end of the Cosmo Babylon War, the XM-08 Zondo-Gei was the product of the Buffo Concern answering the Crossbone Vanguard’s demand for a smaller mobile suit. Despite an overall height of only 10 meters, the Zondo-Gei maintained performance on par with its predecessors, and shared many of their weapons. In order to make up for their numerical disadvantage, the members of Berah Ronah’s Crossbone Vanguard used many leftover units in their forces. However, despite modifications such as a new engine and an anti-beam coating mantle (covering only the legs so as not to interfere with the main thrusters), nothing could change the fact that by that point the Zondo-Gei was 10 years old and severely outmatched. The Vanguard often captured Jovian mobile suits, particularly the EMS-06 Batalla, to replace this aging machine.
