In C.E. 71, ZAFT created the YMF-X000A Dreadnought Gundam to serve as a testbed for the Neutron Jammer Canceler and DRAGOON remote weapon system. After testing was completed, the suit fell into the hands of the Junk Guild and was piloted by Prayer Reverie, a representative of Reverend Malchio. During the Bloody Valentine War, Prayer had several battles with Canard Pars, a Eurasian Federation operative and pilot of the CAT1-X1/3 Hyperion Gundam Unit 1. In their final battle, the Hyperion Gundam was destroyed and Prayer seemingly died from flaws in the cloning process that created him. Afterward, Canard and Junk Guild pilot Lowe Guele remodeled the Dreadnought Gundam into the YMF-X000A/H Dreadnought H.
This modified unit removed some of the armaments of the Dreadnought Gundam and added features from the Hyperion Gundam. Gone was the DRAGOON pack, now replaced by a set of beam cannons/sabers. In Buster mode, the cannons were positioned over the shoulders, similar to the Hyperion Gundam’s “Forfanterie” beam cannon. In Sword mode, the cannons swung under the arms and functioned as beam sabers, with a pair of CIWS guns mounted on the shoulders. The remote-guided “Pristis” beam reamers on the hip armor were replaced with the Hyperion Gundam’s “Armure Lumiere” lightwave defensive barrier and mounted over the forearms when used as shields. Finally, the Hyperion Gundam’s “Zastava Stigmate” beam sub-machine gun was carried over to the Dreadnought H. Having defected from the Eurasian Federation, Canard worked as a pilot for the Junk Guild. Soon after the war’s end, Canard used the Dreadnought H to assist Lowe when ZAFT attempted to capture GENESIS Alpha. By C.E. 73, Canard and the crew members of the Ortygia had struck out on their own to form a mercenary group. When the Earth Alliance attacked GENESIS Alpha and attempted to implicate the Junk Guild in the Break the World incident, Canard again came to the Junk Guild’s aid.
