As a part of ZAFT’s New Millennium series mobile suits, the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior could be outfitted with various Wizard packs to operate in different mission roles. One such configuration was the ZGMF-1000/A1 Gunner ZAKU Warrior. In addition to the standard armaments of the ZAKU Warrior, the Gunner ZAKU Warrior was equipped with an “Orthros” long-range beam cannon similar to the long-range rifle first used in C.E. 71 by the Earth Alliance’s GAT-X103 Buster Gundam. Coincidentally, former Buster Gundam pilot Dearka Elsman used a Gunner ZAKU Warrior in October C.E. 73 during the attempt to stop extremist Coordinators from dropping the remains of the PLANT Junius Seven on Earth.
