Owing to its large production run, ZAFT’s ZGMF-1017 GINN fell into the hands of many parties, including the pirate Erisa Azana. Erisa’s unit was heavily customized for high mobility, featuring new wing thrusters and new custom legs lined with rocket thrusters. Its armaments included a standard machine gun, knife and heavy polearm. In early C.E. 71, Erisa and fellow pirate Otark attacked Junk Guild mechanic Lowe Guele in the Debris Belt near Junius Seven in an attempt to steal the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame. However, Lowe managed to outwit both pirates and defeated them.
