After producing many mobile suit designs during the Bloody Valentine War, ZAFT introduced the New Millennium series mobile suits in the postwar era, starting with the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior. The next mobile suit in the series was the prototype ZGMF-X2000 GOUF Ignited, which served as the basis for the experimental ZGMF-X2000CQGB&S GOUF Crusher close combat variant. The GOUF Crusher retained the “Slayer Whip” heat rod from the standard GOUF Ignited, but the “Draupnir” beam gun and “Tempest” beam sword were removed. The left arm was equipped with an impact vise, and the right arm was enlarged to wield a back-mounted spherical breaker.
