BESPA’s ZM-S19S Shy-Tarn mobile suit was designed strictly as a defensive unit, intended to serve as a guard for important military or government facilities. Armed with eight heavy beam guns mounted all over its body, the Shy-Tarn was equivalent to an entire team of mobile suits in terms of firepower. Due to the size and number of weapons, the Shy-Tarn suffered heavily in terms of speed and mobility, and thus was relegated to local duty. Without the ability to operate over great distances, combined with its sheer firepower, the Shy-Tarn was well suited in its role as a powerful, last line of defense against invaders. Zanscare also produced a variant for use in imperial ceremonies, the Shy-Tarn (Imperial Guard).
