Upper Earth engineers Shot Weapon and Zet Light created various models of aura battlers for Drake Luft after their arrival in Byston Well. The Drumlo was created as the first mass production model for use by Drake’s growing army. The Drumlo was armed with a variety of weapons, including flame bombs, aura shots, aura cannons and a sword. Because of its ease of use, the Drumlo was employed as a training unit for many of the Upper Earth pilots forcibly brought to Byston Well by Drake. Later models were upgraded to increase speed and performance while requiring less basic aura power. Despite the introduction of more powerful aura battlers, the Drumlo retained its role even after the Ferarios moved the conflict to Upper Earth.
