L.Gaim Ep. 41: Spy in Spy

0
Summary

The rebels battle Lily and a number of Space Graias in the asteroid field and the Whale soon arrives to help out. A group of Beazs arrive and request Lily leave the rebels to them. Lily at first hesitates to listen to them, but then decides to leave. The Beazs approach the Whale so Leccee wants to attack them, but Amu notes they helped out. One of the Beaz pilots tells Leccee they should be focusing on Giwaza instead of Theart Star. Leccee wonders if the message is from Full but the pilot says it’s not from the “spooky woman” who’s been young for 60 years. Amu, Kyao and the Beaz pilots return to the Turner. Meanwhile, Lily’s forces meet back up with the Slash and Sarge Opus. Lily complains to Giwaza about Theart Star forcing her to leave. Theart Star continues moving through the asteroid field. Daba and Lilith sneak through the halls to the dock where Full encounters them. She says she likes the name Star Dust and that she and Poseidal know all about the rebel’s plans. She also says Semuj will be leaving the Turner and heading to Gastogal soon. Daba breaks free of her guards and Lilith flies into one of the Beazs, chasing them off. Daba gets into another Beaz and takes off, desiring to reveal Full’s plans. Daba crashes his Beaz near Full and holds her at gunpoint, demanding to be led to the L.Gaim Mk-II. Semuj receives a message on the Turner. Kyao and Leccee talk with the Beaz pilots, who say they don’t all trust Full. Leccee and the others want to attack Giwaza before he’s fully prepared his forces. Semuj comes in and says he has contacted new allies and will be heading to Gastogal soon to continue with their plans for Star Dust. Hearing of incoming forces, Amu and Kyao head out. One of the Beaz pilots talks to Semuj. On the Slash, Giwaza is told about the rebels heading out and orders Lily to go out after them. The rebels surround the Slash and the battle quickly escalates. Giwaza thinks the rebels know too many of his moves, and Anton thinks it’s because Full has indeed allied with the rebels. Daba leads Full to a space suit, saying she’s coming with him. He says he never figured out until this point that Semuj was her spy. The two of them get on the Viewy and head up to the L.Gaim Mk-II, but Full is able to escape on the way up. Rather than fire at her as she leaves, Daba blasts a hole in the deck wall. She is pulled towards the hole and Daba grabs her. With her in his hands, the guards outside are forced to let him go. On the Turner, Semuj pulls a gun on the Beaz pilot, saying he won’t be used solely as a woman’s spy.

The Beaz pilot reveals that Full and Giwaza are working together and manages to escape. She tells her allies Semuj has betrayed them. Semuj gives orders to go after them. In the dock, Mesh studies the Beazs and is knocked out when their pilots arrive. Although Semuj and other rebels try to stop them, they open fire and get into their heavy metals. The hatch opens and they all escape. Amu, still battling with Lily, is told the Beaz pilots were spies. Leccee arrives to help out so Amu can return to the Turner. The Beaz pilots are happy to see them fighting. Amu shows up in the L.Gaim and is attacked. Daba soon arrives in the L.Gaim Mk-II to help out. Seeing Daba return, Lily is dedicated to defeating him now that she has the chance. Full tells Daba he’ll have a better chance in this fight if he releases her. Leccee attacks Lily’s G.Roon from behind and notices Full in the L.Gaim Mk-II’s hands, and she takes on Lily so Daba can leave. Daba decides to let Full go since they got this far somewhat in part thanks to her. A Beaz grabs onto her as she drifts towards them. Daba tells Amu that Semuj is a spy and she should go tend to him on the Turner. Full contacts Giwaza and accepts blame for Daba escaping. She says that Theart Star will take care of this battle and that they should draw back. Giwaza agrees and has his forces retreat, upsetting Lily yet again. The Beazs soon retreat as well. When they get back to the Turner, Amu pulls a gun on Semuj. He admits that he’s been a spy for Full all this time, but is now dedicated to the rebels’ cause and wants to “live” his life again. Daba comes in and says to forgive him since he’s worked so hard along them all this time. Daba asks Semuj why he was working with Full, and Semuj tells Daba he was attracted to the evil smell of her. The two shake hands. On Theart Star, Full wonders if she’ll be under Poseidal’s control forever.

Commentary

This episode throws a big plot twist at us when it’s revealed that Semuj has been a spy for Full. No wonder she was able to know so much about the Star Dust plan, with him being one of the people closest to Daba since they met on Trydetol. Despite that, Daba is his usual honorable self and decides to forgive him. Although, on the other hand, he was probably too lenient with Full, deciding to let her go. And I must say, Lily sure has been annoying thus far, but she’s getting even worse with her obsession of beating Daba. She’s become quite like Gavlet in that respect.
