The SOV-9800 Nautilas was a remote control underwater operations labor produced by Buchiyama Heavy Industries. The Nautilas was controlled from its mothership, and cameras mounted on its body transmitted video back to the pilot’s control console. When a mysterious sea monster began stalking Tokyo Bay, the police department used a Nautilas to search underwater. The Nautilas was controlled by Special Vehicles Section 2 mechanic Shigeo “Shige” Shiba, but it was destroyed after discovering the sea monster.
