The Hagane and Hiryu Kai’s forces advance on Riksent and engage the Barrelions guarding the coast. Arado hears the fighting start and wonders if Latooni and Shine are fighting. He thinks back to Shine introducing herself and he figures she’s the one who gave Latooni her glasses. Shine says that since Arado is a friend of Latooni’s, he’s her friend as well. Arado is surprised that they’ll take part in the mission and Shine says she’s fighting to protect her country and her people. At the mission briefing, Kai explains the plan is to split into two groups with one group drawing away the enemy. Katina, Leona, Ryoto, and Irm all take out some Lions while Tasuku protects the Hagane. Tetsuya voices his concern about letting Shine participate, but Daitetsu reminds him that they have seen her resolve. Tsugumi, Radha and Ibis help prepare the Fairlions. Tsugumi apologizes for having Ibis help, but Ibis says the Astelion is being re-tuned anyway. Tsugumi notes that the Fairlions aren’t meant to be on the front lines and that Shine shouldn’t go into battle with no training. Ibis says that no one can stop her since she wants to protect what she cares for. Archibald figures the Hagane is a diversion and that the Hiryu Kai is nearby. Carla asks why they aren’t evacuating the citizens but Archibald says they put them in the shelters, adding that if they were evacuated they couldn’t be used as human shields. Carla doesn’t like that, but Yuuki holds her back just as the Hiryu Kai is detected. Kyosuke launches and his team charges forward. Bullet and Kusuha shoot down a barrage of missiles with their Grungust Type 3’s Omega Blaster. Lamia destroys a Barrelion, noting that this mission has too many objectives and wonders what the others’ goals are. Ryusei tells Rai to take the lead, admitting that Gilliam told him about Archibald. Rai asks if Ryusei is doing him a favor, but Ryusei reminds him they’re a team. Ryusei destroys a Landlion and Rai charges ahead.
Yuuki and Carla head to their units, but Carla stops him and asks about his earlier actions. Yuuki closes his helmet’s visor and motions for Carla to do the same. She does so and he puts his head against hers. He tells her they’ll say her unit has mechanical trouble and that Archibald is probably up to something. Yuuki heads out in his Guarlion and sees the Cybuster and Valsione, warning his troops about their MAPW attacks. Masaki and Lune destroy some Lions, telling Kyosuke to go ahead. Yuuki goes after him but Bullet engages him. Archibald sees the R-2 Powered, recognizing it as Rai’s unit, and orders his troops to attack it. A Landlion is about to attack him, but the R-1 takes it out with a T-Link Knuckle. Kyosuke and Excellen also back Rai up, allowing him to fire his Hi-Zol Launcher at Archibald’s Rhinoceros. The ship is damaged and Archibald leaves the bridge. Lamia and Rai attack the Rhinoceros again together and cripple it. A hatch opens and Archibald launches in the giant Gravilion AM. Rai aims at him, but Archibald asks where they think the summit attendees are. Kusuha wonders if they were on the Rhinoceros, but Archibald says they’re in the shelters with explosives. He tells them all to surrender or else he’ll detonate the explosives. Rai asks what guarantee they have they’ll keep his word, and Archibald figures they can’t give in to terrorist threats. So he decides to blow up a shelter, saying there’s more than one anyway. He pushes a button but nothing happens. Yuuki is relieved Carla made it in time, saying that not everyone in the DC is cruel like Archibald. Carla reports in saying she disabled all the bombs with the help of Gilliam. Everyone opens fire on the Gravilion, but Archibald counters with a wide area attack that damages Rai and the others. Archibald prepares to fire again but Shine’s voice stops him. The Hagane arrives and Shine and Latooni launch in their Fairlions. Archibald is amused Shine is fighting and asks her if she knows what that means. Shine dodges an attack and says she knows she has to spill the blood of herself and others and that her red Fairlion symbolizes that. The Gravilion launches a barrage of missiles, but the Fairlions active their W-I3NK system and shoot down the missiles. Tsugumi explains that the W-I3NK system sends Shine’s precognition data to Latooni who controls both units at once. The Fairlions knock back the Gravilion and Lamia and Excellen provides support. Lamia realize they can’t lose and releases the Angelg’s limiter. The Fairlions combine their Final Break with Angelg’s Phantom Phoenix and destroy the Gravilion. Archibald escapes in a Guarlion and withdraws followed by Yuuki and the others. Bullet watches them go and is sure they’ll meet again. The people celebrate Shine’s return and Lamia doesn’t think the feeling of victory is a bad thing.
This episode was pretty much all action. The Hagane and Hiryu Kai forces fight to take back Riksent but Archibald’s dastardly acts give them some trouble. Archibald sure is one heck of a bastard, gleefully using civilians as human shields. It’s amazing Yuuki and Carla put up with him, considering that they’re actually good people. They do work to throw a wrench in Archibald’s plans though, forcing him to fight in his gigantic Gravilion, another anime original mecha. Shine continues to impressive, as she decides to take to the battlefield and fight herself. I’ve got to give her props for that. She’s definitely one monarch I’d swear my loyalty to. Of course the Fairlions with their… interesting design choice and fancy combo attack earned them the nickname of “Loli-bots.” The W-I3NK system is effective, and it’s rather impressive that Latooni can control two units simultaneously. A big surprise in this episode is that the Angelg actually did something! It’s mostly been floating around in the other battles, but it actually uses its bow in this episode and its ultimate attack as well. Hearing a vocal version of the Fairlions’ theme was also unexpected, and it made seeing Archibald get taken down all the sweeter. He survives, of course, and he’s sure to be back to bother everyone later.
