Summary

Irm and Ryoto chase after Mekibos who wonders what Wendolo is doing. A large blast erupts from within Neviim and everyone wonders what’s happening. Lemon tells Axel to return before the signal cuts out. Axel leaves and Kyosuke is told to fall back before he can give chase. Einst surround the Ganland and Vindel holds them off. Lemon wonders if the Einst are appearing from inside Neviim when Wendolo’s Dikastis breaks through the wall. Wendolo fires his mega flasher, destroying a bunch of R-Eins. Wendolo tells them to be quiet and Vindel realizes Wendolo has been possessed before firing on him. Lefina suggests breaking into Neviim to find out what’s going on. Kyosuke asks if Excellen senses Alfimi, but Excellen says it’s way more than that. Koryuoh senses it too and Kusuha suggests they might see the giant Einst from before. Lamia says it was destroyed, but Excellen says the Einst are all controlled by a queen bee. Kyosuke is pleased to hear that because it means he just needs to destroy the queen bee. Mekibos finds Wendolo and says he realizes what’s going on. Wendolo says things began before they arrived when the humans opened the door inside Neviim. Wendolo was chosen so the humans wouldn’t notice and buy time. He adds that the world will return to its rightful state, but Mekibos attacks. He says that’s not the world they want, and that as Wendolo’s older brother, he’ll kill him. The Dikastis is unharmed and it stabs the Graterkin through the chest with tentacles. The Graterkin falls and Wendolo fires his mega flasher through the ceiling. Wendolo heads out into space and faces the forces of the Kurogane and Hiryu Kai. He introduces himself and Ibis wonders if he’s an Inspector. Shu says he’s become something else now and Wendolo says he doesn’t need the Granzon or System XN anymore. The Dikastis mutates and summons a large number of Einst. Wendolo declares that he’ll pass judgment on them.

They engage the Einst and Kai tells Gilliam to go after the Shadow Mirrors with the ATX team. Arado says there’s too many Einst and Shu tells Masaki to use the Cybuster‘s Cyflash. He does so and destroys many Einst. Axel makes it back to the Ganland and Vindel uses System XN to teleport them away. They reappear above Neviim and wonder if it’s the Einst that are preventing them from getting away. Axel goes after the Alteisen Riese, resulting in Soulgain losing an arm. Gilliam attacks Vindel but Vindel destroys his buster cannon. Vindel says that he’ll capture Gilliam and escape so he can copy System XN and make W-Series based on Gilliam. That way he’ll have an army capable of teleporting at will. Wendolo attacks Masaki, but he blocks it with help from Irm and Sanger. Irm and Sanger cut off the Dikastis’ arms and the SRX finishes him off with the TK Burst Slash. Excellen asks Lemon how they’re related, and Lemon says she’ll explain if Excellen beats her. Lamia tells Lemon there’s no need to fight, but Lemon says without war neither she nor Lamia would exist. She adds she wouldn’t have met Axel either, and Lamia realizes Lemon’s feelings. Lemon calls Lamia her masterpiece and supposes that one day she’ll be able to love some one. Lemon launches her solid sword breakers and Excellen fires her howling launcher in X mode, crippling the Weisssaviour. Lemon then explains that she’s Excellen from the other world who was brought back to life using technology that was the foundation of the W-series. But since she came out different, she became Lemon Browning. Lemon is happy Lamia became part of another possibility and tells her to live before the Weisssaviour explodes. Axel notices Lemon’s death and continues his battle with Kyosuke. Vindel activates the Zweizergain’s Code Kirin but Bullet heavily damages it. It crashes into Neviim and Gilliam goes after him. Vindel catches Gilliam, but Gilliam hops out of his mech and onto the Zweizergain’s head where System XN is. Vindel asks if he’s going to self destruct but Gilliam says he has to live and atone. Vindel asks why Gilliam did the dimensional jump in the first place and Gilliam explains that he was trying to get back to the world he came from. He says he should never have made a copy of the core of the XN Geist and Vindel asks who Gilliam is. Gilliam says he’s a man destined to wander parallel worlds because of his sin. System XN starts up and Vindel leaves the cockpit to try and stop it. Gilliam says he’s going to jump with all the Einst along with Vindel. Neviim is engulfed in a jump field, and from that field emerges an enormous Einst. Excellen says the queen bee has appeared and Shu explains it came out through the hole System XN made. On the Earth, various stone circles shoot out energy that spreads across the planet. Everyone looks on in horror and Tetsuya wonders if this is the Einst’s doing.

Commentary

More boss battles in this penultimate episode, with Mekibos, Wendolo, Lemon and Vindel taken out. Mekibos is killed by his brother, but for different reasons than in the game. Wendolo was always a smarmy little bastard but now it’s worse since he has an Einst power up. It didn’t help him much, though, as he got killed in short order by the SRX. It was cool, especially when Hagane no Messiah kicked in, but he went down a bit too easily. Lemon is a scientist rather than a pilot, so it’s understandable why she didn’t last long. She reveals her past as a failed resurrection of Excellen and goes out with some kind words to her other self and her daughter. It’s sad to see her die and a real shame Axel was too preoccupied with obsessing over Kyosuke to notice her. Vindel also gets owned by Bullet in one attack, but eh, ancient magical Chinese super robot. Gilliam still gets his showdown with Vindel where he reveals the truth about himself. Gilliam is a wanderer of parallel worlds whose origin is the Super Nintendo Game called Hero Senki. Lots of references to that game here, especially his Kamen Rider style helmet. His actions open a whole new can or worms, though. You might be wondering why this show is called The Inspector when the Inspectors got killed off so soon, but the subtitle isn’t just referring to them. You see that huge Einst at the end? Say hello to the Inspector from a Malevolent Star.
