At Izu base, Kenzo, Aya and Viletta look at the remnant of Judecca and Aya says it feels the same as the time the SRX fought it. Viletta wonders if it’s something else she’s been entrusted with by Ingram Priskin. A technician confirms the readings match those of Mai Kobayashi. The Thrudgelmir slashes at the Shirogane but, Kyosuke’s Alteisen blocks it. He fires his claymores but the Thrudgelmir blocks and damages the ship. Kyosuke recognizes its stance and the Thrudgelmir fires its drill boost knuckles. Rai and Excellen attempt to shoot them down but the Shirogane is damaged again. Another pair of boost knuckles deflect the Thrudgelmir’s and Irmgult Kazahara appears in his Grungust. The Shirogane is forced to land in the water and the Hagane surfaces to assist. Daitetsu tells Lee to have the PT troops chase the enemy, but Lee insists on having them protect the Shirogane instead. Irm grapples with the Thrudgelmir and lands a kick but he’s surprised when the Grungust’s leg transforms and the Thrudgelmir regenerates. Echidna tells the Thrudgelmir’s pilot, Wodan Ymir, to retreat because the Killer Whale submarine has escaped. She also concludes that something must be wrong since W17 hasn’t contacted her. They withdraw and Lamia hopes they’ve realized her situation. Irm notes the interference in his Grungust’s VG alloy and wonders if the Thrudgelmir also uses it. Kyosuke notes a familiar feeling coming from the Thrudgelmir. Latooni laments about killing Arado and Kai comes across an escape pod. Archibald wonders who their mysterious saviors are and he’s told they’re a special squad that goes by Whiskey and answer to a different chain of command. Archibald is then told that they’re to return to the Earth Cradle. Carla wonders if Arado really died and thinks he might not be so easy to kill. Yuuki asks if he reminded Carla of her little brother and reminds her he’s not the only one who didn’t make it back. Seolla says she’ll make Latooni pay, and Cuervo is surprised to hear Latooni is alive. He says she should rest and leaves to make preparations. Seolla breaks down and cries.
Ibis Douglas and Sleigh Presty do battle in their Calions against Kusuha in her Grungust Type 2. Ibis is destroyed by a boost knuckle and the simulation ends. Sleigh berates Ibis for her performance and Tsugumi Takakura tells her that Sleigh and Ibis need to train together for the plan. Sleigh says they need to ready the Calion as a fighter rather than an interstellar spacecraft and they need to show results to their sponsors, Isurugi Heavy Industries, in order to continue Project Terrestrial Dream. She adds that as former members of the DC they don’t have a choice. Ibis knows this but wants to fulfill their dream rather than fight. Tsugumi talks with Filio Presty and tells him she agrees that Ibis lacks the skills to master the Calion. Filio tells her that Ibis is also important to Project TD and that someday they’ll see her power. Tsugumi reminds him that Project TD is now a military project and Filio laments that it’s his fault for working with Bian and developing the Lion series. Tsugumi tells him that their dream is the same as his and he doesn’t want it to remain a dream forever. Eri speaks with Jonathan Kazahara and he tells her there’s no update on the Einst or the Chokijin. Eri suggests forming a task force to search for them when Rishu Togoh enters. Jonathan introduces him to Eri and Rishu recognizes the pictures on the wall as the Chokijin. He says they appear when the world is in chaos and considers it a bad omen. The Shirogane has been ordered back to Langley base for repairs, but Lee objects, insisting that the ship will be fine after two days of repair. Daitetsu convinces him to relent and says the Hagane will continue the pursuit and will take the ATX team and the others. Irm calls Jonathan and is told that only the Grungust series uses VG alloy. Irm wonders if there’s a leak and Jonathan says if anyone exists that can get through TLI’s security, he’d want to recruit them. He requests Irm send him data on the Thrudgelmir the next time they encounter it. Kyosuke says the way the sword struck concerns him more since it was just like Sanger Zonvolt. Excellen notes how the Thrudgelmir’s sword was like a zankantou but Ryusei likens it more to the SRX’s liquid metal sword. Rai says he doesn’t imagine Sanger would work with the DC again. The Hagane takes off and Lamia asks Kai about his order to support Latooni. Kai says that a lot of them like to run off on their own so it’s better to issue odd orders than have them disobeyed. He adds that because of that they can do things only they can do and save lives. Latooni watches over the unconscious Arado as the Hagane flies away. Lee curses the fact that he’s no longer needed since the Hagane is around. At the Earth Cradle, Van makes a speech denouncing the Federation’s weakness, saying the world doesn’t need the Aegis Shield, but the Harpe Scythe. He says that they, the Neo DC, are the ones who will defeat the aliens. Seolla is wheeled away and whispers Arado’s name. On the Hagane, Arado wakes up.
Picking up from last time, the day is saved by Irm and his mullet. The Hagane also takes over as the main battleship, much to Lee’s chagrin. Seolla takes Arado’s death extremely hard and vows revenge. Bet she wishes she was nicer to him now! Of course Arado isn’t actually dead and has been picked up by the Hagane. We meet the crew of Project TD who had a brief cameo back in Divine Wars. Ibis is a crappy pilot and Sleigh is an overachiever, which causes friction between them. Filio is the only one who sees anything worthwhile in Ibis. Kyosuke and the others worry about the Thrudgelmir and note its similarity to Sanger’s piloting. Judging by Wodan’s voice and fighting style, maybe he really is Sanger wearing a mask. Given all this talk of brainwashing, it is possible. We’ll find out eventually.
