SRW OG: Divine Wars Stage 15: A Shot from the Skies

Summary

Sanger watches the Macht go down and tells Kyosuke he has another mission. He adds he doesn’t care if he’s branded a traitor and retreats. All PTs return to the Hagane and Rai tells Aya that he’ll be fine. He tells Ryusei he’ll pay him back for saving him and Ryusei wonders if he was just thanked. Lefina reports that the Hiryu Kai is too damaged to help attack Aidoneus Island. Daitetsu says the Hagane will go alone and asks the Hiryu Kai to transfer all its PTs. Lefina tells Gilliam to go as well. Ryoto tells Daitetsu that he’s decided to help and gives information about Aidoneus. Hiryu Kai‘s PTs board the Hagane and Excellen wonders if they have a jacuzzi. She adds she’s pumped about the battle in memory of Tasuku, but Bullet reminds her he isn’t dead. Tasuku wakes up in the infirmary and says he dreamed that Excellen throttled him. Ingram assigns Latooni to the Wildraubtier and Ryoto to the Gespenst Type-TT. Gilliam asks what Ryusei will pilot. On Aidoneus, Adler suggests using forces from the Earth Cradle to attack Geneva now that the UCC is of no help. Bian says the Hagane will attack Aidoneus but Adler says that would be reckless. Bian says their battle against the UCC was reckless and if they weren’t reckless, they wouldn’t be worthy to stand against him. Rob objects to Ryusei using the R-1 because it isn’t ready but Ryusei says he’ll be fine as long as he stays in R-Wing mode. Rob gives in but tells Ryusei he mustn’t transform. Operation Break Out enters its next phase and the Hagane prepares for re-entry. On the Kurogane, Tempest says he’ll be satisfied as long as he gets revenge but Elzam says the grudge will be the death of him. Tempest says he can’t stay calm like Elzam did after losing his wife, but quickly retracts his statement. The Hagane is detected and Tempest goes to launch. Elzam reminds him not to forget Bian’s orders.

The Hagane re-enters and charges its Tronium Cannon. They are met by a squad of AMs, which includes Tenzan and Tempest in Guarlion Customs. The Hagane attacks and Daitetsu orders all PTs to launch except for the Cybuster. Ryoto prepares to launch and Rio tells him she’s changed her mind about him. Rob reminds Ryusei not to transform and the PTs engage the AMs. Tempest gets past Excellen and Bullet and wonders why Bian doesn’t want him to sink the Hagane. Tempest sees the Gespenst Type R and wonders if Gilliam’s in it. He attacks and Gilliam says the Aggressors know who they should really be fighting. Tempest says his memories as an Aggressor are embarrassing and that the Federation is his only enemy for killing his wife and daughter. Latooni takes out some Lions, but Tenzan attacks her thinking it’s Ryusei. He sees that it’s Latooni and hits her wing. Before he can damage her more, Ryusei saves her. Tenzan goes after Ryusei and says gaming with him is fun. He says Ryusei is the same as him but Ryusei says he’s not fighting for personal enjoyment. Ryusei dodges Tenzan’s shots but goes too fast and the R-Wing stalls and starts falling. Ryusei remembers what Rob said, but transforms the R-1 anyway. Tenzan uses his Sonic Breaker attack, but Ryusei counters with his T-Link Knuckle. Tenzan’s Guarlion Custom takes heavy damage and falls to the ground. Tempest orders his troops to retreat and the Hagane prepares to fire the Tronium Cannon. The Kurogane flies out of the clouds and charges the Hagane. Daitetsu orders them to stay on course. The Kurogane flies past them and nicks the Hagane‘s wing. Daitetsu orders the Tronium Cannon to fire, but it misses the island. Elzam wonders if they saw through his plan and Bian laughs. He tells Adler to prepare the Valsion.

Commentary

Personally I think this episode was a little pointless, but a few things occurred. Ryusei finally upgrades to the R-1, making this the second time the Wildraubtier was handed down (was originally piloted by Kyosuke, then Ryusei and now Latooni). This is also the first time Ryusei uses his trademark T-Link Knuckle attack. Ryoto finally joins the EFA and the attack on Aidoneus is about to truly begin. Finally, we’re more formally introduced to the Hagane‘s sister ship, the Kurogane. The Hagane has finally reached Aidoneus so now it’s time for the final battle of the DC War.
