Commentary

This episode is a clip show. It beings where the previous one left off. Vash questions the muscleman about the one who sent him. He gets vague answers and decides to walk away. Meanwhile, the agents are typing up a report of the incident. During the report, Meryl thinks back to when she first met Vash and we are treated to a retrospective of the first 12 episodes. The town feels on edge with Vash present, so they ask him to leave. The agents visit him in his room as he is packing, and catch him changing clothes. His body is riddled with scars. Meryl asks him if he’s angry about being blamed for something he was dragged into and asks if he can keep living like this. He replies that his past has not been resolved. Vash is back to his old antics as he departs the town. He spots a cute girl on the same path as him and offers her free protection. The agents follow close behind, not knowing what the next adventure will bring.
