After the success of the Type-02 Guren Mk-II, the Kyoto House commissioned a mass production version, which would be known as the Type-03 Gekka. Before the production model was created, genius engineer Rakshata Chawla constructed a prototype version in order to test the viability of the Gekka. The pre-production Gekka mounted an early version of the Guren’s radiation wave arm; despite the less efficient energy use and output, it could still destroy any standard knightmare frame with a single burst. Aside from the radiation wave arm, the only real difference between the pre-production model and the finalized Gekka was its distinctive blue color scheme.
