A group of men climb onto the Iron Gear, reporting to Kid Horla on their failure to take back the Xabungle. Horla heads inside to see Carrying. Carrying yells at Horla and thinks he’ll attain a reputation as someone who can be stolen from. Horla says he should put a bounty of 3,000 gallant out there to take it back. Elchi suggest using the other Xabungle to try and take it back. Carrying agrees to the bounty, although Horla tells his men it’s only 2,000. Timp Sharon watches from his Walker Machine Gabament nearby, and thinks that the Iron Gear may be a tough match for Bigman. Horla speaks to more men about the bounty, who get in a variety of Walker Machines and head out. Rag and Blume watch from nearby and take off in their Hovergys. Meanwhile Dyke and Chill ride alongside the Xabungle. They spot a cloud of dust nearby and head elsewhere. Rag and Blume steal fuel and ammo from the Iron Gear and are found by Elchi, who surprisingly helps them out. Elchi gets into the other Xabungle. An alarm goes off, alerting Carrying. Fatman starts walking off but Carrying demands he stay. Elchi comes across Timp’s Gabament and claims she ran away from home. She talks about wanting to spread culture and he says she’d be lucky not to end up dead in a ditch. Elchi leaves, driving around him. Meanwhile Jiron, Chill and Dyke fend off shots from the enemy. Jiron and Chill head back to the Xabungle where he gives her instructions on how to use it. They head out separately in the Xabungle’s two modular parts. After counting to 30, they combine and transform the Xabungle into its humanoid form, easily taking out one of the Walker Machines. Dyke disables another with his bazooka Both Walker Machines are able to get up again but are fired upon by the returning Rag and Blume. Rag tells Jiron about them being pursued and the bounty Carrying has put on them. Jiron knows that they only need to make it one more day for the three day period to be up.
Elchi comes across a man piloting a Walker Machine in pursuit of the Xabungle and bounty. Kotsett continues to work on the Iron Gear under Carrying’s command. Carrying wants to head out and get his daughter back. Horla comes across the men who had been defeated by Jiron and the Sand Rats earlier. He sees some Innocent domes in the distance and thinks they are being used as shields. Jiron and the Sand Rats are below one and using that exact strategy, planning on staying there. Horla’s men sit by a fire, eating and complaining. Horla says his plan is to wait for them to sleep. Timp approaches in his Walker Machine and thinks with them near the Innocent’s dome it is more trouble than it’s worth. Chill wanders off and is kidnapped by a couple of Horla’s men in front of the other Sand Rats. Jiron approaches, where Geraba and some of the other men have her tied up to a tree. Chill acts as annoying as possible but then tells Jiron to run, alerting the men that he’s there. The Sand Rats exchange fire with them as Jiron makes his way back. Timp watches from a cliff above and feels like he’s seen Jiron before. At sunrise Horla calls out for them. Jiron shows up in the Xabungle and is told to get out of it. Just then Elchi appears with the other Xabungle, enabling Jiron to rescue Chill. Elchi critiques Horla for kidnapping and says she’ll help Jiron and he should get out of here. Horla’s men start firing upon them. A couple of Walker Machines grab Jiron’s Xabungle while Rag tells Elchi to leave things to him. Rag takes out one of the Walker Machines as its men are filling it with gas. Elchi’s Xabungle is held down but manages to get up and tries to help Jiron. Timp comments on Jiron’s performance being not bad. Jiron sees a mark on Timp’s Walker Machine and realizes it’s the same Walker Machine that killed his parents. He starts repeatedly attacking it right underneath an Innocent dome. Timp tells him it’s been longer than a week since the incident and he doesn’t have the right to seek revenge anymore. Jiron jumps into the Gabament’s cockpit and starts getting in a fight with Timp, even after they are both knocked out of it by Chill bumping into them. Timp is able to knock Jiron down and escape. Horla’s men are quickly upon Jiron again. A sandstorm hits the Iron Gear while Kotsett continues to work on it.
Another battle-centric episode, but a bit better than the previous one. Timp Sharon takes on a larger role and is revealed to be the man responsible for the death of Jiron’s parents. Jiron pays no mind to the three day rule being up and tries to take revenge. Jiron actually is showing himself to be a bit of a hypocrite here as he is also trying to use the three day rule to get permanent ownership of the Xabungle. Timp’s design appears inspired by Clint Eastwood Western movies. Although her motives were a bit ambiguous in the previous episode, Elchi is clearly on Jiron’s side here, coming out to help him in the second Xabungle. A bit surprising that some of Horla’s men were attacking her, given that she’s the boss’ daughter. Horla also appears to be a bit of a schemer, bringing up a bounty to Carrying and then lying about its amount to his men, I’m thinking probably to enable him to act as a middle man and take some of the money for himself?
