The YF-11 Thunderbolt was a prototype variable fighter manufactured by Shinsei Industry as part of U.N. Spacy’s Project Nova, which was carried out to select a successor to their second generation main variable fighter, the VF-4 Lightning III. In contrast to the VF-4, the YF-11’s design descended from the VF-1A Valkyrie. In April 2030, Dancing Skull Squadron ace pilots Maximilian and Milia Fallyna Jenius used two YF-11s painted in their custom colors to conduct a hostage rescue mission on planet Bellfan, where they saved U.N. Government Chairman Lawrence Yun Kemal. In November, Zentradi deserters captured a fold booster-equipped YF-11 unit, which served as the basis for the Fz-150 Feios Valkyrie. One month later, mass production began on the VF-11A.
