Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny is a three-part Sega Saturn game and one-volume manga released in Japan from 1996-1997. Developed by Bec and published by Bandai, the game is a 3D action title released only in Japan. The manga adaptation, written and illustrated by Mizuho Takayama, was serialized in Haoh magazine, but only covered the first two parts of the game. Set in UC 0079 during the One Year War, the story focuses on Yuu Kajima, an Earth Federation Forces pilot assigned to test new mobile suits using the mysterious EXAM System. The manga was released in English in North America by TOKYOPOP, but it is now out of print. In 2015, Gundam Ace magazine began publishing Mobile Suit Gundam: The Blue Destiny, an expanded retelling of the original story.
