The Zelana flies through the Boneless Mountain. Marvel goes down to see Shou working on Dunbine and Nie yells at Chum for playing with a spring, which almost causes her to fall off the ship. Everyone knows Nie is so upset because they were unable to rescue Riml. Shou feels as if it’s his fault. Back at Laas Wau Riml thinks about Nie instead of playing the piano like she’s supposed to. Louser comes in and yells at her piano teacher, Musiy, and then Riml too after Musiy leaves. Bern gets the troops ready to chase the Zelana through the Boneless Mountain. Bern tells Garalia to come along. She wants to pilot a Drumlo but Bern won’t let her. On the Zelana, Chum yells that a Gallo, a giant bird monster, is near. Shou wonders where the Ferario that summoned Marvel is but Chum says she doesn’t know. Shou goes up to the bridge of the Zelana and updates Nie of his progress. Nie still harbors the suspicion that Shou is a spy for Drake. Keen gets upset with Nie because he doesn’t seem to appreciate her and Marvel and runs off. Bern, Garalia and Todd leave Laas Wau to catch up with the other soldiers. Keen, screaming that she hates Nie flies off the Zelana. A Gallo nearby immediately starts chasing her. Shou shoots at the Gallo, causing Bern’s spy, Nigu Rou to find out where they are. He alerts the other soldiers with a beacon where to go.
Bern and the others head into the fog zone of the mountain to chase the Zelana, which is heading after the Gallo to save Keen. Shou heads out in the Fou but is too late as Keen is struck by the Gallo’s tail. Shou uses his Aura Power to fling the Gallo into a mountain. Shou looks around for Keen and finds her battered body hanging from a tree. He brings her back to the Zelana where Shou argues with Nie, blaming him for her running off. Marvel and Chum thank him. The Aura Battlers chasing the Zelana split up in an attempt to find it. At that moment however the Zelana has hidden at a nearby mountain village. The doctor there treats Keen’s injuries but doesn’t want them to stick around. He agrees to keep Keen there after they explain the situation to him. They say goodbye and head out just as Bern and the others arrive. Todd flies off into the fog, angering Bern. Garalia finds the Zelana and fires at it, alerting Todd of it’s location. Shou heads out in the Dunbine to fight them. He manages to shoot down Garalia’s Barau with a single shot then duels with Todd. Shou tells Todd he should join them against Drake but Todd refuses. Shou heavily damages his Drumlo and then heads off to meet with the Zelana, which is having trouble flying through the tough winds of the area. Bern goes and threatens the doctor who helped them earlier, but luckily the soldiers aren’t able to find Keen, who is hiding underneath the house.
This episode, like the last, is somewhat of a filler episode, but it does still keep things a little interesting. Nie’s absurdly negative attitude finally reaches a breaking point, causing Keen to flee the Zelana. One wonders why she, Marvel and Chum help Nie in the first place if he treats them so badly. His nonstop complaining about Riml is quite annoying and his notion that Shou is a spy after all he’s done is enough to make him quite a dislikable character. Hopefully he’ll become more likable as the series goes on. The Zelana manages to flee from Drake’s forces but have to leave Keen behind for the time being, reducing their already small number.
