The ES-11D Cat’s Eye was an all-environment reconnaissance craft manufactured by Glamor for use by U.N. Spacy. Compared to the larger EC-33B Disk Sensor, the Cat’s Eye was capable of operating both in an atmosphere and in space. It was equipped with two thermonuclear reaction engines and two low atmosphere jet engines, and it mounted a large radome. The Cat’s Eye accommodated one pilot and one operations officer. In November 2009, Macross bridge officer Misa Hayase launched in a Cat’s Eye to gather reconnaissance data. Her craft came under attack and was captured by the Zentradi, leading to first contact between the giants and humans.
