One of many F90 Gundam F90 optional armament variations developed by the Earth Federation Forces’ SNRI during the UC 0110s and 0120s, the F90J Gundam F90 J-Type (Jacket) was designed with additional armor and weapons to increase both defense and offense. It was based on the old FSWS (Full-armor System and Weapon System) created by the Federation Forces during the One Year War in UC 0079. This system covered the Gundam’s body in armor pieces but also mounted additional weapons. The J-Type’s armaments included vulcan guns, two beam sabers (relocated to the left forearm armor), a beam cannon, a 5-tube missile launcher, a double beam gun and two machine cannons (which later became standard armaments on the F91 Gundam F91). To counterbalance the increased weight from the armor and weapons, small Minovsky craft units were added on each leg. However, it wasn’t able to compensate for the high mobility that was characteristic of the Gundam F90.
