Early during the Gryps War, the AEUG’s newly captured RX-178 Gundam Mk-II mobile suit was soon outclassed by new transformable mobile suits/armors being developed by the Titans. Although fairly impressive for its innovative new movable frame construction, the Mk-II soon found itself left behind in terms of mobility, armor and firepower. To compensate for these shortcomings, Anaheim Electronics came up with a proposal to enhance the Mk-II’s performance. Additional equipment made from Gundarium alloy was to be added, as well as a more powerful 2-barrel beam cannon with a grenade launcher. However, the FA-178 Full Armor Gundam Mk-II’s development was close to that of the FXA-05D G-Defenser, which was determined to be more useful in battle. Subsequently, the planned upgrade was dropped, and the Full Armor Gundam Mk-II was never built.
