The FP/A-77 Gundam Pharact was a prototype mobile suit developed by Peil Technologies. Officially, it was named Pharact to disguise the fact that it incorporated banned GUND Format technology. GUND Format technology allowed the Pharact to regulate inertia, with the result that it was able to engage in combat on all three axes, whether on the ground or in space. The Pharact incorporated new style Blast Booster thrusters, which provided the mobile suit with the flight capabilities standard to Peil mobile suits. Its armaments included beam sabers, foot-mounted beam cannons, a beam arquebus sniper rifle and a pair of combinable beam calivers. It was also armed with 12 remote Corax GUND-BITs that could produce electromagnetic beams to temporarily stunned enemy mobile suits. The Coraxes could also be deployed in a netlike fashion to ensnare targets.

Peil’s approach to GUND Format technology included artificially enhancing its pilots. These Enhanced Persons were surgically altered to outwardly look like Elan Ceres, the young man identified by the Pail Grade AI as the company’s next CEO. These Enhanced Persons lived as “Elan Ceres” and attended the Asticassia School of Technology in his place. In A.S. 122, Enhanced Person Number 4, who was cold and distant, was executed by Peil for failing in his mission to defeat Suletta Mercury’s XVX-016 Gundam Aerial. His replacement, Number 5, had a vastly different personality and attempted to seduce Suletta to fulfill his mission. Number 5, who did not like piloting the Pharact, also failed in his mission with Suletta. Later, Suletta took remote control of the Gundam Pharact to create a data storm powerful enough to shut down the Space Assembly League’s Interplanetary Laser Transmission System. Although the effort was successful, the data storm disintegrated all GUND Format suits, including the Gundam Pharact.
